Why do I hear noises from my new eBike with a Performance Line (BDU346Y) or Performance Line PX (BDU347Y)?

If you have a new eBike with a Performance Line (BDU346Y) or Performance Line PX (BDU347Y), you may hear noises from the drive unit while you are riding. This can happen when you are riding uphill or when the motor is under a heavy load.

This is the normal noise made by the gearbox when it is running in. It can occur because a new gearbox concept is used that supports a higher torque and requires a short running-in period. The noise usually disappears after about 30 kilometres.
