What do the codes indicated for the drive units mean (e.g. BDU384Y)?
A code in conjunction with a product name serves to clearly and easily distinguish products from the same product line. The smart system includes the new Performance Line CX (BDU384Y) and its predecessor Performance Line CX (BDU374Y), for example.
BDU: The first digit stands for Bosch (B), the two following digits stand for the product category, in this case drive unit (DU).
384Y: The last four digits further specify the version and thus enable the drive units to be clearly distinguished. The “Y” in the product code is a placeholder and may contain a different number depending on the model, e.g. BDU3840.
